Understanding Aspect Ratio vs Resolution

To ensure the renderings, 360s and animation integrate well into your digital or print marketing platforms, you absolutely have to understand the format (Ratio) and Resolution of your display to make sure that your content fits correctly.

Aspect Ratio

The aspect ratio (or format) is the proportions of the Height and Width of an image. The most universally used ratios are 16:9-known as the Widescreen, and 4:3, commonly referred to as Full Screen.

The images must match the size of your screen, if they don’t correspond, it will try to compensate by either having black bars appear around your contents or stretching it to fit the screen.

Resolution

The resolution is the number of pixels that a screen can show. For example, a screen with a resolution of 720p will show 720 pixels vertically.

At LiFang, all of our renderings come standard at 4K resolution and animation come standard 720p resolution, great for most marketing purposes.

For rendering project, when choosing the right Aspect Ratio, ensure the format is big enough to display your exact design intention.
